Russia continues attacks on Kozatsky Island in Kherson region - Defense Forces
Russian troops have stepped up their attempts to gain a foothold on Kozatsky Island, which has become the main focus of their efforts in southern Ukraine.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"As for the islands, the situation has not changed much, the enemy continues shelling and continues to try to force certain straits, take a bridgehead and gain a foothold on one of the islands. And their main direction is Kozatsky Island, where several combat clashes have been taking place every day lately," noted Voloshyn.
In addition to the fighting on the islands, Russian troops continue to shell populated areas in the South. The night before, they launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, causing the destruction of civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
"This is direct terror against civilians," the spokesman emphasized.
