"Ramstein" meeting

On 9 January 2025, the 25th meeting of the contact group in the "Ramstein" format will take place, which will be significant.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Pentagon press centre.

As noted, at this landmark meeting, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin will talk to defence ministers and senior military officials from around the world to discuss Ukraine's immediate needs on the battlefield, long-term defence needs and the important coordination that is being carried out through coalitions of forces and capabilities.

"The meeting will focus on the need to ensure the continued provision of key capabilities, including air defence systems, artillery munitions and armoured vehicles, as well as efforts to strengthen the defence industrial base," the Pentagon said.

In addition, according to another post on the Pentagon's website, two senior defence officials told the media that Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin intends to bring together the eight leaders of the coalition forces of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group during the upcoming 25th meeting at Ramstein Air Base in Germany to draw up a defence capability plan for Ukraine to support the creation of a credible deterrent force by 2027.
