Trump signs order to declassify documents on assassinations of Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King Jr.

US President Donald Trump has signed a decree to open access to documents related to the assassination of the 35th US President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Bloomberg writes about it, Censor.NET reports.
Trump promised to release the documents during his first term as president. But he eventually gave in to the Central Intelligence Agency's request to keep most of the materials secret.
During the last election campaign, he renewed his promise to declassify. In the executive order, Trump said it was in the public interest to declassify the data.
"More than 50 years after the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Pastor Martin Luther King Jr. the federal government has not released to the public all of its records related to these events. Their families and the American people deserve transparency and truth," Trump said.
Over the next 15 days, the Director of National Intelligence and the Attorney General are to submit to Trump a plan to fully disclose records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and within 45 days - those related to the assassinations of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
