Europe needs a sustainable peace that will last longer than few years - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys

Kēstutis Budris on what will ensure sustainable peace

Russia needs to be deprived of sources of funding for the war, then we can count on sustainable peace.

According to Censor.NET, with reference to  Voice of America, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said this in Washington.

"The Russians do not want to implement what they sign, this has never happened," Budrys said.

He emphasized that depriving Russia of sources of funding for its military machine would lead to a halt to the aggression.

"The outcome of the negotiations will also depend on what we do, how we support Ukraine. This is a long-term commitment for us, not only until peace is achieved, but for 10 years to come," said the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.

As a reminder, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said that very clear measures, including tougher sanctions and the refusal of Russian money, should be introduced to reduce Moscow's military potential.
