CDU leader Friedrich Merz, who will become the next German Chancellor, emphasized his support for Ukraine after the White House scandal.

Merz, who is currently leading the negotiations on the formation of a coalition in Germany, addressed Zelenskyy and said that Germany is "with Ukraine in good times and in times of trial."
"We must never confuse the aggressor and the victim in this terrible war," he emphasized.
In his turn, the current Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized that no one wants peace more than the citizens of Ukraine.
"That is why we are working together to find a way to a lasting and just peace. Ukraine can rely on Germany - and on Europe," he added.
Trump-Zelenskyy dispute
