Defence forces hit oil refineries in Ryazan and Samara regions of Russia, - General Staff

Ukrainian Armed Forces attack Ryazan and Novokuibyshevsk refineries

Unmanned systems forces, together with other components of the Defence Forces, hit a number of important strategic targets in Russia.

This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

Attack on the Ryazan region on 9 March

"On the night of 9 March, in the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation, an occupiers' oil refinery was hit, which was used to supply the invaders' army. Explosions were recorded in the area of the target. The Ryazan refinery produced an average of 840 thousand tonnes of the highest grade fuel for jet engines. Aviation kerosene of the TS-1 brand produced by the refinery was actively used by the aviation of the aggressor's troops in the process of strikes on the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.

Attack on the Samara region on the night of 10 March

"The production facilities of the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region were hit. Fuel from this refinery is transported through the product pipeline system and railways to supply the enemy's troops in the northern direction," the General Staff added.

Detailed information on the consequences of the damage to the facilities is currently being clarified.
