Zelenskyy has appointed Major General Andrii Hnatov as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"In order to improve the quality of troop management, Major General Andriy Hnatov, who had previously held the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the decree of the President of Ukraine - Supreme Commander-in-Chief," the statement said.
What tasks has Hnatov been assigned?
Major General Andrii Hnatov has been tasked with increasing the efficiency of the Armed Forces' management vertical, in particular in the process of reorganizing and implementing the corps structure, efficiency in making and implementing decisions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, and implementing combat experience in planning and commanding troops.

It is also noted that Lieutenant General Anatolii Barhylevych will continue to serve as Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The new Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has been given important tasks to oversee the reform processes being implemented in the army, to verify compliance with legislation and decisions made in the MoD system, taking into account his extensive management experience gained in the Armed Forces.
