The head of the US National Intelligence Agency, Tulsi Gabbard, said that US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin are "very good friends" and are focused on finding ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.

According to Gabbard, the relationship between the US and Russia has "long roots", and Trump is seeking to expand it, focusing on "peace, prosperity, freedom and security".

"We have two leaders of two great countries who are very good friends and very focused on how we can strengthen the shared objectives and shared interests," Gabbard said.
