Russian Army units that took part in Kursk operation are now concentrating near Sumy region – OTG "Siversk"

OTGT Siversk told about the situation on the border of Sumy region

Near the Sumy region, a large number of Russian units that participated in the Kursk operation are advancing to the state border.

This was stated on television by the spokesman for the Siversk operational and tactical group of troops, Armed Forces Colonel Vadym Mysnyk, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"We have recorded the enemy's military presence along the entire border before, but we did not see any signs of large groups forming to carry out offensive actions. Of course, if the situation in the adjacent territory in Kursk region has changed, the enemy has concentrated a lot of forces there, and thus they have come closer to the state border. So, this is probably what they mean by these amassed forces. Our task is to strengthen our defense system as much as possible and continue to carry out combat missions both in the adjacent territory (in the Kursk region - ed.) and on the border," said Mysnyk, commenting on the accumulation of enemy forces on the border.

According to him, the situation in the north remains stable.

"The operational situation is not changing drastically. The enemy is shelling the border along the entire line every day. That is, they use almost the entire available arsenal of weapons. Although it should be noted here that they are very active in using FPVdrones, UAV drops, mortars, and cannon artillery. Of course, the enemy is shelling the border of Sumy region the most, and the largest concentration of their forces and means is in this direction," he said.

Mr. Mysnyk noted that the threat of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups remains, but the Defense Forces are controlling the situation.

The Siversk OTGT also reported that Russian subversive reconnaissance groups are used mainly on the flanks where the enemy is amassing. At the same time, the Defense Forces are trying to detect and destroy them in a timely manner.

The spokesperson of OTGT added that the number of Ukrainian mobile fire groups destroying enemy drones has recently increased on the northern border of Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
