The White House deputy press secretary added that Putin "realized" that he would not be able to "play the same games with Trump" as with George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.
"He (Trump - ed.) gave Ukrainians Javelins when President Obama gave them pillows and blankets. President Trump is serious, and in the end, he wants to achieve peace," Fields emphasized.
As a reminder, the Kremlin has confirmed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will have a conversation on March 18.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff also said that a conversation between the American and Russian leaders could take place this week.
