US wants to change terms of minerals deal - FT

Donald Trump's administration wants to change the terms of the minerals agreement with Ukraine. Washington wants to tighten economic requirements.

According to the publication, two Ukrainian officials spoke about such US plans on condition of anonymity.
Thus, Trump is looking for new conditions for US access to Ukraine's minerals and "energy assets."
Washington wants Kyiv to agree to detailed provisions on who owns and controls a joint investment fund, as well as a broader area potentially covering U.S. ownership of other economic assets, such as Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
Two senior Ukrainian officials involved in negotiations with the United States over Ukrainian mineral resources said that the Trump administration has not yet presented Kyiv with new terms, the newspaper writes.
