MPs of the "Servant of the People" party want to allow the use of firearms, tear gas and unmanned aerial vehicles against protesters.

"The Servants of the People have submitted a draft law that allows dispersing protests with firearms and drones. It seems that Zelenskyy, Yermak and Tatarov are mentally traumatised by the fear of losing power.

They have forgotten that Tatarov already took part in an armed attack on Maidan in 2014, and mass murder did not help Yanukovych to stay in power. It will not help Zelenskyy either. So don't disgrace the state, immediately withdraw this law from consideration," the journalist stressed.

According to the AntAC, the relevant draft law was approved by the law enforcement committee of Ionushas's "servant".

It gives the National Guard the right to use firearms, tear gas and unmanned aerial vehicles against protesters.

"All of this is done in a closed regime from the public and under the sauce of giving the National Guard more powers 'to protect the state'. Instead, the new amendments from the committee give the National Guard more powers to ‘effectively’ disperse rallies," they said.

What does the new version of draft law No. 10311 allow the National Guard to do?

to use firearms, in particular to stop mass disorder, without proper warning to the protesters;
to use rubber and plastic batons, tear gas, and stun guns against rioters;
to mark offenders during mass riots, for example, with paint;
to use drones, but the MPs are very vague about what exactly they are used for. As a result, they may be used to monitor protesters.
