Russian troops continue to try to capture at least a small bridgehead on the islands in the Kherson region to establish firing points for shelling, in particular, Kherson.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was reported on television by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.
"The enemy does not abandon attempts to land, force certain straits, seize at least a small foothold there in order to establish firing points to try to influence the straits themselves with fire and to shell Kherson and the settlements adjacent to the Dnipro River," he said.
According to him, the enemy also continues to attack civilians and buildings with kamikaze drones. In particular, it is actively using heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems on the right bank.
"Over the last day more than 30 localities in the Kherson region came under similar attacks by the enemy," added the spokesman.
