Russian attacks on civilian ships

During the Russian aggression against Ukraine, thirteen sailors were killed and several dozen injured as a result of attacks on civilian vessels.

According to Censor.NET, citing Interfax-Ukraine, this was reported by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, during a national telethon.

"Several dozen civilian vessels were damaged (as a result of Russian attacks - Ed.). I can tell you the losses: 13 dead sailors and several dozen wounded," he said.

He said that the announced ceasefire in the Black Sea will be primarily monitored by the cessation of Russian shelling of Ukrainian ports.

"The President of Ukraine has stated that yes, for us, the truce means an end to the shelling of Ukrainian ports. We (the Ukrainian Navy - Ed.) have always taken the same position. We are waiting for the final document, and then we can talk about compliance with some conditions," Pletenchuk said.

According to him, Ukrainian civilian shipping is currently being carried out, and the Russian Federation keeps its military units in the basing points.

"But at the same time, they use the water area for flights and launch missile weapons from there. They use the temporarily occupied Crimea for shelling, they use Crimea and the eastern coast of Russia to launch "shaheds" - this is also a fact. And they strike at the port infrastructure, which results in the deaths of civilian sailors - this is also a fact," the spokesman added.
