Macron: Summit leaders agreed to continue supporting Ukraine and to uphold sanctions against Russia

The participants of the leaders’ summit in support of Ukraine agreed to continue providing assistance to the Ukrainian people and the Armed Forces, and reaffirmed that sanctions against Russia will remain in place until a comprehensive peace is achieved.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron following the summit in support of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing I-U.
"We will continue to support the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian army. This is what is needed to make sure that we can prepare for peace. This is necessary to make sure that we can resist Russia's plan, which is to pretend to negotiate," Macron said.
He noted that Ukraine has prioritized strengthening its artillery, supplying ammunition, and strengthening its ground defense. Macron also announced the EU's decision to accelerate the disbursement of loans approved by the G7 countries, as well as the delivery of additional artillery systems.
In addition, the leaders of the summit confirmed that lifting sanctions against Russia is not yet under consideration. "With regard to additional support for Ukraine, we also unanimously supported and decided that the time has not yet come to lift sanctions. No sanctions should be lifted until peace is permanently established. We will continue to put economic pressure on the shadow fleets," Macron emphasized.
