If Russia decides to attack NATO, response will be catastrophic - NATO Military Committee Chairman Dragone

NATO's forces and capabilities are far superior to Russia's.
This was stated by the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragonet, Censor.NET reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
He noted that according to the NATO Strategic Concept and Military Strategy, the main threats are:
- Russian Federation;
- terrorist groups.
"As for a possible conflict (with Russia - Ed.), as a military officer, I can say that if Russia takes such a reckless step, the response will be catastrophic for Moscow. There is no doubt that NATO's forces and capabilities are far superior to Russia's," Dragonet said.
He noted that due to the position of deterrence and defense, the likelihood of a "clash" between NATO and Russia is low but not impossible.
Answering the question of whether there is a risk of Russia attacking other European countries in the event of a defeat in Ukraine, he reminded that the Baltic states, Romania, and Poland are members of the Alliance, and therefore the enemy will face a response from all 32 member states.
"On the other hand, since the 1990s, Russia has been cyclically repeating its actions - aggressing and invading neighboring countries, often using hybrid and destabilization campaigns that do not reach the level of full-scale war. This pattern of behavior has been well studied," explained Mr. Dragonet.
The Alliance, he noted, must deter any potential ambitions of the Russian Federation or any other adversary to act against NATO. In this regard, all negotiations should be backed by a position of strength, as the combination of soft and hard power is a unique feature of this military-political alliance.
