No border breakthrough in Sumy region, enemy uses small assault groups - SBGS

Currently, no breakthroughs of the Ukrainian border by Russian troops have been recorded in Sumy region. The enemy is using small assault groups, but the Defense Forces are fighting back.
Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, said this during a telethon, Censor.NET reports.
"In the direction of Sumy region, at the moment, despite the statements recently made by Russia that they have broken through the Ukrainian border, this is not the case. In fact, the enemy continues to use small assault groups, and it should be understood that opposite the area of territory within the Kursk region where the Defense Forces conducted their operation, the enemy has accumulated quite a lot of forces in terms of personnel and equipment," said Demchenko.
According to him, the occupants are trying to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the Kursk region with these forces.
"The enemy is trying to use the same forces, but in the form of small assault groups, in the direction of Novenke and Zhuravka. I cannot exclude that the enemy will try to use the same tactics in the direction of other settlements, in fact, trying to expand the combat zone along the border or on the territory of Ukraine... In fact, these small assault groups have one task - to cross the line of our state border, to enter the territory of Ukraine as deeply as possible," said the spokesman for the Border Guard Service.
However, as Demchenko noted, our soldiers are using artillery and mortar crews, using drones, and preventing the enemy from achieving the goals they set for themselves.
He noted that currently the State Border Guard Service does not record the enemy using equipment or armored vehicles towards the Ukrainian border.
"For example, some time ago, in the direction of Zhuravka, the enemy also tried to break through our border using convoys of vehicles. And then, on the outskirts of the state border, our soldiers destroyed these vehicles along with the assault groups," added the spokesman.
According to Demchenko, all enemy groups are currently being destroyed either on the outskirts of the border or after they have crossed the border and are trying to gain a foothold in Ukraine.
