The spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demchenko, reported an increase in the activity of Russian subversive groups in the north of Sumy region.
He said this during a telethon, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, these units are trying to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and identify defensive lines for further shelling with heavy weapons.
He noted that the Russians continue to try to act in the Sumy region, particularly in the areas bordering Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. Their goal is to attack the positions of our military, expose the construction of defences and adjust the fire of artillery and aviation.
At the same time, no attempts to break through into Ukraine's territory have been recorded over the past few days.
Demchenko also stressed that Russian troops are concentrating their forces in the areas of the village of Lyptsi and the city of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region. The enemy is trying to expand the fighting in this region, but is not achieving its goals.
