Russia and US are working on peace plan for Ukraine - Peskov

Russia and US are working on peace plan for Ukraine

Russian dictator's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia and the United States are working on ideas for a possible peaceful settlement in Ukraine and on building bilateral ties, despite the fact that US President Donald Trump said he was "pissed off" with Vladimir Putin.

According to Censor.NET, Reuters reports.

Peskov said that Moscow continues to work with Washington and that Putin remains open to contacts with Trump.

"We are continuing to work with the American side, first of all to build our bilateral relations, which were badly damaged during the previous (U.S.) administration," Peskov said.

He also said that the Kremlin is working on implementation of some ideas related to the "Ukrainian settlement".

"This work is underway, but so far there are no specifics that we could or should tell you about. This is a time-consuming process, probably due to its complexity," the spokesman noted.

A call between Trump and Putin, he said, could be organised at short notice if necessary, although it was not scheduled for this week.

As a reminder, Trump said he wants to see Russian President Vladimir Putin "make a deal" to end the war in Ukraine, and noted that he would impose additional sanctions on Russian oil if necessary.
