Defense Forces report on the situation in the south

In March, the assault and fire activity of Russian invaders in the south increased. Last month, the occupiers carried out 368 assault operations in the south. This is 250 more than in February.

This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, on Suspilne TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

According to the spokesman, the complication of the situation in the operational zone is also evidenced by the losses of the Russian army, an increase in the number of clashes, shelling and attacks on frontline settlements and positions of Ukrainian defenders.

"The enemy lost about 1200-1300 servicemen in February and almost 3500 in March," said Voloshyn.

The spokesman noted that in the south, in the steppe zone, the invaders rarely use armored vehicles, as they are clearly visible from the air.

"Therefore, if the enemy did use it, it was to support the assault actions of small infantry groups and to transport them. These groups often used such equipment as motorcycles, buggies, and ATVs to move from one point to our positions as quickly as possible," he said.

Voloshyn added that in March, Ukrainian defenders destroyed almost a dozen tanks and about eight dozen units of armored vehicles in this operational zone.
