Zelenskyy awarded 449 defenders of Ukraine, 179 of them posthumously
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded 449 defenders of Ukraine with state awards, 179 of them posthumously.
This is stated in Decree No. 205/2025, published on the president's website on April 1, Censor.NET reports.
The decree states that the awards are intended for personal courage in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty.
In particular, the defenders received the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Danylo Halytskyi, "For Courage" and medals "For Military Service to Ukraine", "For Impeccable Service", "To the Defender of the Fatherland" and "For Saved Life".
In addition, Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro Kapitula and Major Kostiantyn Revutskyi were awarded the Presidential Cross of Military Merit.
