Serbia and Hungary to strengthen defense cooperation: Vucic says countries moving toward military alliance

On Tuesday, April 1, Serbia and Hungary signed a new defense agreement in Belgrade.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing Radio Liberty.
The agreement was signed by Hungary’s Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky and Serbia’s Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić.
According to reports, Budapest and Belgrade have agreed on 79 defense-related initiatives for this year, including joint drills, helicopter and other exercises, cooperation in the defense industry, cybersecurity, peacekeeping operations, military education, and medical services.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said the agreement would "further deepen cooperation toward the formation of a military alliance" between Serbia and Hungary.
"This is something the Hungarian side has been asking for, as have both the Hungarian and Serbian parliaments. Our relationship is more than just good, and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and I have expressed our commitment to further accelerate and strengthen our coordination in the field of defense," Vučić said.
At the same time, Vučić did not provide any specific details regarding the idea of a potential Serbian-Hungarian military alliance.
