NATO postpones review of Moscow strategy due to talks between US, Russia and Ukraine - Euractiv

Due to the peace talks between the USA, Russia and Ukraine, the Alliance is forced to postpone the discussion of its future strategy towards Moscow.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Euractiv.

Diplomatic sources note that NATO leaders planned to review their approach to Russia, but all discussions have been suspended due to the trilateral talks between Washington, Moscow and Kyiv.

The recommendations were expected to be presented at a summit in The Hague in July 2025. This could be a turning point in NATO-Russia relations after the final break in 2022.

As noted, the January talks between the US President and Vladimir Putin, which led to an agreement on a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a partial easing of sanctions against Russia, were a surprise.

Washington emphasises that NATO remains united in its support for Ukraine.

"Regarding Ukraine, all Allies agree that the death and destruction must stop. President Trump wants to promote peace, and at his direction we are ready to provide the decisive leadership necessary to reach a sustainable resolution," the representative of the White House added.
