We have clear plan of action aimed at compelling Russia to engage in real negotiations – Umerov

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov addressed the participants of the meeting of the EU defense ministers, which is taking place in Warsaw as part of Poland's presidency of the EU Council.
According to Censor.NET, Umerov posted this on his Facebook page.
"I thanked the European partners for their unwavering solidarity and support of Ukraine for 11 years of confrontation with Russian aggression, including more than three years of full-scale invasion," he said.
Umerov emphasized that now, as never before, it is necessary to jointly strengthen Ukraine, increase pressure on Russia and coordinate actions in the security sphere.
"We have a clear plan of action aimed at compelling Russia to engage in real negotiations," he added.
According to the minister, Ukraine, together with its allies, is focused on three key goals:
- holding the front line
- protecting Ukrainian skies - creating a powerful air defense system to ensure the safety of cities, the economy and the army;
- development of long-range capabilities to defeat logistics and destroy the enemy's offensive potential.
In addition, Umerov emphasized that more weapons for Ukraine means a shorter path to peace.
Ukraine needs support in the following key areas:
- ammunition
- long-range missiles
- armored vehicles
- aviation;
- air defense equipment.
The Minister paid special attention to the defense industry. Strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry is a contribution to the security of not only Ukraine but the entire European space.
"We are open to joint projects, both according to the Danish model and in other formats. Ukraine is also ready to invest in the defense industry of EU countries. Our strategic goal is to fully integrate the Ukrainian industrial base into the European defense ecosystem.
Expanding military assistance and developing joint production is the way to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and across the continent," Umerov added.
