Zelenskyy and Putin are "ready to make deal" to end war – Trump
US President Donald Trump said that the United States wants the Russian-Ukrainian war to end as soon as possible, and the leaders of Ukraine and Russia are "ready to make a deal."
He told journalists on board the plane en route from Washington to Miami, Censor.NET reports.
According to Trump, he "recently" spoke with Zelenskyy.
"I think he (Zelenskyy - ed.) is ready to make a deal. And I think President Putin is ready to make a deal, and we will stop the killing of thousands of young people a week," Trump said.
He added that the US wants the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible and that there is "some progress" in these conversations.
Asked about his talks with Putin's representative Kirill Dmitriev, Trump said he did not discuss specific individuals.
"I'll just tell you that there are a lot of good conversations about Ukraine, Russia," the White House chief said.
He added that Europe has not succeeded in dealing with Putin, "but I think I will succeed."
