It is not so easy to carry out attacks with maritime drones nowadays. Russia has built up echeloned defense, - Neizhpapa

Attacks by maritime drones have become more complex. Neizhpapa explained why

The Russians have developed a tiered defense system, so it is more difficult to carry out Ukrainian attacks with marine drones.

This was stated by the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksii Neizhpapa, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Liberty.

To be successful, he said, Ukrainian forces must constantly be "ahead of the enemy."

"Once upon a time, we could easily enter Sevastopol Bay with drones, but now it is not so easy. Because the enemy has created a tiered defense system. It starts with a tiered detection system, long-range, medium-range, short-range detection of our unmanned systems. Then the order of their destruction... And, of course, to overcome it, we have to make other decisions, technical decisions, first of all... We have to be more flexible, we have to be smarter, we have to be always ahead in technology. And those maritime drones that were just kamikazes are almost history. Now, all drones, naval drones, must carry a variety of weapons, with different applications, to be more effective and successful," the commander explained.

Neizhpapa also noted that the Russians are "trying to make" analogs of such drones.

"They have had several uses, more or less successful. And they are working on it. And we are also preparing to repel these drones and their possible use. So, just like then, during the war on land, this was new to them, and now, as you can see, there is a drone war going on. It is the same at sea: they are also preparing to do the same things. That's why we are also preparing for this, not only to use drones against the enemy, but also to defend ourselves against them," he added.
