Zelenskyy appoints new Ukrainian ambassadors to 6 countries

On Monday, 7 April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed new ambassadors of Ukraine to China, Finland, Norway, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Paraguay.

Zelenskyy appoints businessman Oleksii Havrysh as Ukraine's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Norway.

"To appoint Oleksii Petrovych Havrysh as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway," the decree says.

Havrysh is a businessman who is positioned as an expert in strategic and corporate governance in the energy sector and investment activities.

The Foreign Ministry claimed that he has some experience in the Norwegian direction and is an expert on energy issues.

Oleksandr Nechytailo became the new Ambassador of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China. He is a Ukrainian diplomat. From 18 June 2016 to 4 May 2022, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia.

Roman Horiainov has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Lebanon. The diplomat previously worked as a consul and head of the Consulate of Ukraine in Amman in 2001-2002, as head of the Consular Support Division of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2014-2016, and as Consul General of Ukraine in Milan.

Yurii Klymenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Argentine Republic, has also been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Paraguay with concurrent appointment.

Yurii Klymenko is a Ukrainian diplomat. Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva (2013-2021). He is fluent in English, Spanish, Russian and French (working level).

Mykhailo Vydoinyk, former Ambassador to Denmark, has been appointed as the new Ambassador to Finland. The decree appointing Vydoinyk was published on the website of the President's Office on 7 April, along with a series of other decrees appointing ambassadors.

Vydoinyk is a career diplomat who has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies since the early 2000s.

In 2015-2018, he headed the Department of International Cooperation of the Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat. From June 2018 to the end of October 2023, Mykhailo Vydoinyk was the Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark.

Viktor Maiko headed the Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan. Maiko is well known in both the highest political and public circles of Turkmenistan. In 2005-2010, he served as Ukraine's ambassador to Ashgabat. From 2010 to 2014, he was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During his time in Turkmenistan, Maiko managed to ensure that trade with Ukraine reached a record $6 billion. Our countries actively cooperated in all important areas.

As a reminder, former Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin has been appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
