Melnyk appointed as Ukraine’s new Permanent Representative to UN

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved the appointment of a number of Ukrainian ambassadors, including Ukraine's permanent representative to the United Nations.
The corresponding presidential decree No. 215/2025 was published on the website of the Presidential Administration on April 7, Censor.NET reports.
Thus, former Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany and Brazil Andrii Melnyk will become Ukraine's permanent representative to the United Nations.
By decree, the president dismissed Melnyk from the post of Ukraine's ambassador to Brazil.
Before that, Andrii Melnyk was Deputy Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Appointment of a number of Ukrainian ambassadors
Decree #217/2025 appoints former Ambassador to Malaysia and the Philippines Oleksandr Nechytailo as Ukraine's Ambassador to China.
Ukraine's ambassador to Argentina and Uruguay, Yurii Klymenko, will concurrently head the diplomatic mission in Paraguay, according to Decree #216/2025.
By Decree #218/2025, Zelenskyy appointed Oleksii Havrysh as Ukraine's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway.
By another decree, the President dismissed Viktor Maiko from the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkmenistan and appointed him Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Zelenskyy also appointed Mykhailo Vydoinyk as Ukraine's ambassador to Finland.
Roman Horiainov became the head of Ukraine's diplomatic mission in Lebanon.
The president also dismissed Olha Dibrova from her positions as Ukraine's ambassador to Finland and Iceland.
