Cavoli does not support idea of withdrawing US troops from Europe

General Christopher Cavoli, the Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces in Europe and NATO, does not agree with the idea of withdrawing US troops from the continent.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Politico.
At a hearing of the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, Cavoli emphasized that he had "consistently recommended" maintaining the same military presence since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
"My advice is to maintain the number of troops we have now," he added.
At the hearing, Cavoli's position was supported by several Republican lawmakers, including Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers and Ranking Member Don Bacon.
Rogers asked Acting Assistant Secretary of State for International Security Affairs Catherine Thompson about the military presence in Europe.
Thompson evaded the question, saying that the Pentagon is conducting a review and "no decisions have been made at this time."
