43% of Americans believe Trump is too supportive of Russia on Ukraine - poll

Trump, Putin

More than 40% of Americans believe that US President Donald Trump is too favourable to Russia in his approach to the war against Ukraine.

This is evidenced by the results of a Pew Research Center poll, Censor.NET reports citing Politico.

According to the results, 43% of respondents believe that Trump is too supportive of Moscow in his attempts to pressure Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to agree to end the war. Only 3% share the opposite opinion - that he is leaning too much towards Kyiv.

Another 31 per cent of respondents believe that Trump's policy on the conflict is balanced, while more than a quarter of respondents were undecided.

There is a noticeable polarisation of opinions along party lines: 57% of Republicans believe that Trump's approach is correct, while only 16% think he is too soft on Russia. On the other hand, 72% of Democrats believe that Trump is too favourable to the Kremlin.

As noted, the survey was conducted from 24 to 30 March among 3605 American adults. The statistical error is approximately 1.9%.
