Thus, in the Vinnytsia region, two foreign FSB saboteurs were detained who had arrived in Ukraine from a neighbouring European country to commit arson attacks.

According to the case file, the offenders were carrying out an assignment from a Russian supervisor to destroy relay cabinets on a railway line near Vinnytsia.

One of the defendants was detained while trying to use a flammable mixture to set fire to a power facility. The other was detained on his way to the site of the planned sabotage.

According to the SSU, four arsonists were exposed in Odesa, who, as part of two groups, separately destroyed seven relay cabinets of signalling installations. One of the detainees is a 34-year-old Odesa resident who involved her 16-year-old son in the subversive activities.

"Two more are 16-year-old lyceum students who, after committing arson attacks on the railway, made an improvised explosive device (IED) to organise a terrorist attack near the administrative building of the local shopping centre.

Law enforcers exposed the young men at the stage of equipping explosives and thus prevented the explosion near a military facility," the statement said.

In addition, a local unemployed man was detained in Zaporizhzhia for burning down a Defence Forces SUV and then trying to destroy a power substation on the railway line in the southern region.

Two more suspects were detained in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. They were 18-year-old drug addicts who, on the instructions of an FSB supervisor, set fire to a relay cabinet of the Kyiv railway.

Another 4 arsonists from the Kyiv region, detained by the SSU a few weeks ago, were additionally served a new notice of suspicion. Their actions are classified as sabotage committed as part of an organised criminal group under martial law.

During the searches of the offenders' possessions, the SSU found mobile phones and clothes with evidence of the crimes.

The detainees have been served a notice of suspicion in connection with the crimes committed under Art. 2, 3 Art. 28, Part 2 Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons and an organised group under martial law).

The offenders face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
