China has threatened US with countermeasures: There will be no winners in trade war

China tightens control over exports of dual-use goods

China will have to take measures in response to the US tariff war.

According to Censor.NET, this is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

"China has no choice but to take legal countermeasures. China does not want a trade war with the United States, but the Chinese government will never sit idly by and watch the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese people being harmed and deprived of development," the Chinese side said.

It is also noted that in recent years, the United States has constantly imposed economic and trade restrictions against China, including additional duties, which have harmed trade and economic cooperation between the two largest economies in the world.

"There will be no winners in the trade war, but if the United States insists on further escalating its economic and trade restrictions, China has the strong will and considerable means to resolutely resist and fight to the end," the Chinese ministry said.

However, it also emphasizes its readiness to engage in dialogue with the United States to resolve differences while respecting each other's core interests and concerns.

"We hope that the United States will meet China halfway... and in the spirit of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation, immediately cancel unilateral tariffs, strengthen dialogue and resolve differences," China summarizes.

As reported earlier, Trump said that he was being "kissed on the ass" to try to conclude a trade deal.

US duties against China

It is worth noting that this is not the first wave of duties imposed by the US on China. First, the US imposed 20% duties on Beijing, then added another 34%.

After that, China imposed duties on American goods, and the day before Trump threatened additional tariffs of 50%, and he kept his promise.

Earlier, Trump also called China's decision to impose mirror 34 percent tariffs on all imports from the United States on April 10 a mistake.
