US extends sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program

sanctions against Iran

The United States has announced new sanctions against individuals associated with Iran's nuclear program.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

"The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury has designated five legal entities and one individual in Iran for providing support to key institutions that manage and control Iran's nuclear program," the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.

It is noted that the organizations included in the sanctions list are engaged in the procurement and production of important technologies for Iran's nuclear program.

According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the Iranian regime's reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons remains a serious threat to the United States, regional stability, and global security. "The Treasury will continue to use available tools and authorities to impede Iran's efforts to develop its nuclear program and engage in broader destabilizing activities," Bessent said.
