Democratic congressmen demand that Trump fire Musk by May 30 - Axios

Democrats in Congress demand Elon Musk’s dismissal

A group of Democrats in the US House of Representatives is launching a campaign to force billionaire Elon Musk to leave Donald Trump's administration by May 30, 2025.

Axios writes about it, Censor.NET reports.

The publication notes the legal requirement that special civil servants (which is exactly what Musk's position is) cannot be in office for more than 130 days.

"We demand an immediate public statement from your administration clearly stating that Musk will resign and transfer all decision-making authority, as required by law, by May 30," 77 Democrats wrote in a letter to Trump.

The authors emphasize that they will not allow Musk to return to the administration as a special civil servant within a year "unless he gives up his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX."

The letter was initiated by Congressman Greg Kazar. According to him, this is only the first step.

"We are making it clear that public pressure on Republicans will only increase until May 30," he said.

Kazar added that the Democrats "have legal tools, political tools" and "the full force of public pressure" at their disposal.
