We believe that Latvia should be part of "Coalition of the Willing" – Defense Minister Sprūds

Coalition of the willing. Latvia wants to be part of it

Latvia expresses its desire to be among the members of the "Coalition of the Willing" and emphasizes the need to continue to help Ukraine

This was stated by Defense Minister Andris Spruds, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Latvia plays an important role. We believe that we should be part of a coalition of the willing, and I would even add - a coalition of the capable. That's why we were able to support Ukraine with 0.25% of our GDP, which is allocated to Ukraine's military needs," he said before the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

Spruds said that today is an important meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing", where the main "clear goal" is to firmly support Ukraine.

The minister drew attention to the leadership role of the UK and France, which gathered defense ministers in Brussels today.

He noted that the issue of military deployment was among the topics of discussion.

"This is an important mechanism of how we can support Ukraine. Also, of course, some details must be determined. The parameters of the ceasefire agreement also need to be set. We must provide everything we can and what Ukraine needs," Spruds emphasized.
