I did not mean to divide Ukraine, Times distorted my words - Kellogg

Keith Kellogg

US President Trump's special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has said that an article in the British newspaper The Times about the possible division of Ukraine distorts his words.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"The Times article distorts what I said. I spoke about a 'stability force' after the ceasefire, in support of Ukraine's sovereignty. When I talked about disengagement, I was referring to areas or zones of responsibility of allied forces, without the involvement of US troops. I was NOT referring to the division of Ukraine," Kellogg stressed.

Earlier, The Times reported that US special envoy Keith Kellogg suggested that British and French troops could be deployed in western Ukraine as part of the so-called ceasefire peacekeeping force. Kellogg compared this to the situation in Berlin after World War II, when "the city was divided into zones of control between Russia, France, Britain and the United States".
