Ukrainian Armed Forces record 59 combat engagements in frontline since beginning of the day, 13 battles are still ongoing - General Staff
As of now, the total number of combat clashes at the front is 59.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff on the situation at the front as of 16 hours on April 19, Censor.NET reports.
Shelling of Ukraine
Today, as a result of enemy artillery and mortar shelling, the communities of Ulanove, Lezhachi, Taratutino, Stepok, Prokhody, Reviakino, Petrushivka, Novodmitrivka, Pokrovka, Turia in Sumy region; Luhovka, Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region; and Yanzhulivka in Chernihiv region suffered. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Riasne, Velykyi Prykil, Stepok and Miropillia in Sumy region.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops once near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian occupants made five attacks near Zahryzove, Kindrashivka and Petropavlivka. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
Combat actions in the east
In the Lyman direction, the invader's army made six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novomykhailivka and in the direction of Hrekivka, Hlushchenkove and Olhivka over the last day. Three battles are ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy tried to break through our defenses in the areas of Toretsk, Dachne and towards Diliyivka. The defense forces repelled all nine enemy attacks.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have made 13 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Novotoretske, Svyrydonivka, Malynivka, Shevchenko, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Kotliarivka and Andriivka. Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the enemy's offensive - seven attacks have already been repelled, and six more battles are ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks. The enemy tried to advance in the areas of Kostyantynopil, Pryvilne and Novosilky.
Situation in the south
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy launched air strikes on the settlements of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne and Novodarivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, the occupants carried out three attacks in the direction of Mala Tokmachka and near Novoandriivka. Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske and Novoiakovlivka were subjected to air strikes.
It is noted that the enemy did not conduct offensive actions on the Siversk, Kramatorsk and Prydniprovsky directions today.
Fighting in the Kursk region
The operation in the Kursk region continues. Ukrainian soldiers repelled ten enemy attacks today, and two more battles are ongoing. The invaders' aviation carried out ten strikes in this direction, dropping 13 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy carried out 196 artillery attacks, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.
The General Staff added that no significant changes were recorded in other areas.
