Sunken Ivolha boat's captain arrested without right to bail
This way, the court has satisfied the prosecutor's request, Censor.NET reports referring to Interfax-Ukraine.
The court has not sanctioned the right to bail for the captain.
As previously reported, Ivolha boat sank on Saturday off Zatoka coast in the Odesa region. As a result, 14 people died. 22 people were saved. Currently, rescue workers and investigators are checking the information that the boat could possibly carry another eight people who are still missing.
With respect to the captain, criminal proceedings have been instituted under Part 3, Article 276 (violation of safety rules during operation of railway, water, or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5-10 years.
