Vote buying was acute problem of local elections, - Poroshenko
President Petro Poroshenko declared that the issue of bribery of voters remained during the local elections that were held Oct. 25.

"There still was the acute problem of vote buying committed by certain candidates but this time it was actively dealt with by the law enforcement officers. In general, the violations were largely technical having organizational and procedural nature," the president said.
In addition he said that there were cases of violations of the law on the part of election commissions, particularly in Mariupol (Donetsk region) and Pavlohrad (Dnipropetrovsk region), which forced him, as the president, to react and intervene in the situation.
According to him, the elections were generally featured by a high level of competition, a large number of participants.
At the same time he noted that according to the international observers, the violations did not affect the outcome of the election in general and the people's will expression was free and fair.
