In Kyiv, a 4-year-old boy was poisoned by drugs found on the floor. His 22-year-old mother, a drug addict, left the child unattended.
During the police's conversation with the child's mother and inspection of the premises, law enforcement officers established that the woman had been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for failure to fulfil her parental duties, and had also systematically ignored the remarks of the guardianship and custody authorities, according to Censor.NET.

In the morning, a 22-year-old Kyiv woman left her son unattended in one of the rooms of the apartment, while she and an acquaintance were using drugs in another room.
Left alone, the boy found a pill containing a narcotic substance on the floor and swallowed it. The child's condition then deteriorated sharply: signs of an acute reaction, stupor and involuntary movements appeared. The minor was urgently hospitalised, where doctors fought for his life.
Investigators informed the 22-year-old woman that she was suspected of malicious failure by parents to fulfil their legal obligations to care for their child, which led to serious consequences.
The pre-trial investigation has now been completed. The indictment has been sent to court. The mother faces up to five years in prison. The child is under the supervision of the child welfare authorities. His life is currently not in danger.
