Over 7,000 missions with UGVs carried out in January 2026 – Fedorov. VIDEO

Ukraine is actively scaling up the use of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) on the front lines. In January 2026 alone, more than 7,000 missions were carried out using UGV, mainly for logistics on the front lines.
This was reported by Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Censor.NET reports.
"Just six months ago, evacuating the wounded with UGV was rare. Today, the robots regularly enter high-risk areas: they deliver ammunition, provide logistics support and evacuate the wounded in places where the presence of people creates additional danger," Fedorov noted.
The minister stressed that the use of UGV has become a daily practice for units, and that this year’s objective is to shift frontline logistics as much as possible to ground drones. This will reduce risks for service members and increase the effectiveness of the units.
"This year, we will increase the production and procurement of UAVs, improve the communication and control system, and enable military units to purchase the necessary modules and components for specific combat tasks," Fedorov added.
The "Army of Drones. Bonus" programme
He recalled the "Army of Drones.Bonus" programme, which allows units to obtain UGV in exchange for combat points. Thirteen models of ground robotic systems are currently available on the Brave1 Market platform.
The minister also posted a video of an evacuation mission by the 17th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade, in which a wounded soldier was brought out of a dangerous area with the help of a UGV.
