Poroshenko dissatisfied with General Prosecutor's Office performance
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is not satisfied with the performance of the General Prosecutor's Office.
He said this in an interview to Ukrainian TV channels, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny."I am dissatisfied with the performance of the General Prosecutor's Office," the head of state said.
Poroshenko noted that the process of refreshment of the prosecution structure and personnel is underway; 4,000 employees have been dismissed, and an open contest to fill local prosecution offices has been launched. The prosecution is also being deprived of certain functions, including general supervision.
"In early December, not later, an internal security department shall be created, which is to be headed by a totally transparent candidate. This department will be independent, and have independent financing," the president said.
He said he believed that the prosecution would change from within.
