President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine continues to work with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region and is providing military expertise.
He announced this on social media, according to Censor.NET.
Collaboration
He noted that the situation in this region is of global significance, and this is reflected in global markets. As of today, Ukraine is already engaged in substantive cooperation with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. Work is ongoing with Jordan. Kyiv is also in communication with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq.
"Rustem Umerov also reported today on planned cooperation with countries outside the Middle East, specifically Turkey and several others with significant potential. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine continues to maintain political-level contact with partners who are under attack by the Iranian regime. And we in Ukraine are grateful to everyone around the world who is working in this way—joining forces to protect people and critical infrastructure. Our military expertise is already yielding results. Our interceptors are already yielding results. We already have several long-term agreements on cooperation and mutual reinforcement, and we are preparing new decisions," Zelenskyy said.
Strait of Hormuz
- Iranian "Shahed" drones and missiles pose essentially the same threat that we face in Europe when defending ourselves against Russian "Shahed" drones and missiles, the president emphasized.
"The disruption of normal maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is essentially the same challenge we faced in Ukraine in 2022, when Russia attempted to block our ports and access to the sea—only on a more dangerous scale. No nation should be left to face terrorist attacks alone. Thank you to everyone who is acting swiftly, coordinating efforts, and developing mechanisms to reliably ensure collective security! Only sincere cooperation will allow us to protect lives and restore stability," Zelenskyy added.
