Foreign military allowed to join multinational two-month exercise in Ukraine
President Poroshenko signed the law sanctioning foreign military units' participation in a multinational exercise in November- December in Starychi village (the Lviv region).
Censor.NET reports citing the Presidential Administration website.In particular, the law provides for admission of military units of the United States, other NATO member states, and Partnership for Peace participants to Ukraine in November-December 2015 to participate in a 61-day multinational military exercise.
The admission of up to 2,500 servicemen with weapons and military equipment is approved. According to the law, the total number of exercise participants makes up to 5,300 military: Ukrainian military - up to 2,800, U.S. military - up to 1,500, NATO and Partnership for Peace member states' military - up to 1,000.
A total of UAH 2.71 mln (about $116,930) will be spent on the exercise as part of budget funds allocated to the Ministry of Defense in 2015.
