Up to 9,000 Russian military stay in eastern Ukraine, - Poroshenko
7,000 to 9,000 Russian servicemen are still deployed in the east of Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with Le Figaro, Censor.NET informs citing UNIAN.
"There is no other option other than the Minsk agreements, which would ensure the cease-fire, withdrawal of troops and heavy weapons, as well as guarantee an access for the international organizations such as the OSCE. Russia signed this deal," he said.
According to Poroshenko, today, Russia does not comply with the agreement. "In eastern Ukraine, some 7,000 to 9,000 Russian troops are still deployed," the president said, adding that "if we want real peace and stability return to Ukraine, Russia should withdraw its military and weapons."
