Saakashvili poses no threat to Ukraine and never will, - Poroshenko
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sees no threat to the country in the activities of Odesa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili.
He said it during this year's first press conference, Censor.NET informs citing Gordon."Saakashvili poses no threat to Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence, and never will," he stressed.
When asked whether he fears that Saakashvili steals his electoral rating, Poroshenko answered negatively as well.
"This is the first time Ukraine has got four years with no regular elections in their course. If we have enough experience and reason to take advantage of it, reform the country and bring it to Europe, protect its territorial integrity and eradicate corruption... This is the time for investing in the country without caring about ratings. If some populists intend to destabilize the situation, I want to disappoint them, I'll give them no chance to do that," he said.
In 2015, former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili received Ukrainian citizenship and moved to Ukraine. In May 2015 he was appointed head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
