90% of railway infrastructure and 80% of roads battered, - Minister Pyvovarskyi
Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi argues 90 percent of rail infrastructure, 90 percent of port facilities, and 80 percent of roads are worn out.
He said this at Focus Ukraine: Global Export Credit Agency and Multilateral Financial Institutions Strategy Meeting, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny."At the moment, more than 90 percent of railway infrastructure is subject to decommissioning, it is worn out. 90 percent of ports are worn out, including their facilities. More than 80 percent of roads are battered," he said.
According to the minister, restoring the infrastructure requires significant investments. At the same time, the airport infrastructure, he says, is in good condition thanks to the preparations for the European soccer championship in 2012 when Ukraine received massive investments.
Pyvovarskyi also noted the airport infrastructure and equipment are very expensive and they are not used to maximum effectiveness.
