The Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government recommends the parliament to rename Dnipropetrovsk in Dnipro in accordance with the law "on condemnation of Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) regimes and prohibition of propaganda of their symbols."

The committee recommends the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt the draft resolution No.3864, which stipulates for the renaming of Dnipropetrovsk into Dnipro.

The committee has also considered the alternative draft resolution No.4001, which envisages retaining of the name of Dnipropetrovsk by changing etymology of the name after the Dnipro River and St. Peter the Apostle. The committee recommends the parliament to reject this draft resolution as it does not provide for the renaming of the city, but only a reinterpretation of its name.
