Militants shelled Pavlopil with mortars, - ATO press center

Illegal armed groups continue to carry out attacks against the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces. Since the beginning of the day, militants opened fire on Ukrainian troops' positions 17 times.

"At night, Russian mercenaries were active near Marinka and Krasnohorivka, using small arms, grenade launchers, and 82-mm mortars.

"Subsequently, the enemy employed 122-mm artillery systems. The attack damaged three houses of local residents, a dormitory, a college building, and electric transmission lines.

"During the day, the enemy two times fired anti-tank missile systems in the vicinity of Novotroitske and continued to resort to armed provocations at the Mariupol direction.

"There, militants hit ATO forces' positions near Berezove, Shyrokyne, and Hranitne, using heavy machine guns and various types of grenade launchers.

"In the area of Pavlopil, Russian mercenaries employed automatic grenade launchers and 82-mm mortars.

"In the Luhansk region, militants employed automatic grenade launchers to attack Ukrainian soldiers near Stanytsia Luhanska, while strong points in Novooleksandrivka came under heavy machine gun fire," the evening report notes.
