No elections possible in Donbas until security issue resolved, - Mahera
He said it in an interview with 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"No elections can be held in respective areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions until security issue is resolved... Elections are only possible after the war ends, the situation stabilizes, and necessary measures are taken," he said.
Mahera also remarked he was not aware of any progress regarding the preparation of a corresponding bill, expressing confidence that the parliament would not pass such a law unless security issue is settled, Russian troops are removed from the Donbas, Ukraine regains control over the state border, and the overall situation gets stabilized.
As far as Ukraine's foreign partners are concerned, the official added, they also deem it inappropriate to adopt such a law at this stage.
